Steph and I stopped at the Cape Cod Salt Water Taffy Company last night while we were out running errands. Steph has to drive back home today and wanted to get some treats for her office mates. I remember going to this same candy shack the last time I was out here visiting. I love the salty sweetness of salt water taffy.

Singing along with the piano

Herbs from the Gods

Last night we went to a party at a little inn that had a lot of old-fashioned hats. Of course we had to try them all on. It was an interesting time. There was a piano player that everyone loved because he could play and sing almost any song that was requested of him.

Smores Fixins, South Yarmouth, Cape Cod

The night of the Fourth of July we bought some lobsters at Stop & Shop to make for dinner. The only other time I’ve had homemade lobster was the last time I was in the Cape, but that was six years ago. Along with the lobster we had grilled vegetables, corn on the cob, and a salad. The most delicious meal, and really healthy too!

Later on we were sitting in the screened porch drinking wine. Jess and Jen’s (they’re sisters) Aunt Sally and her friends Denise and Beth came over. We made smores and drank and talked some more and before we realized it, it was past midnight.

Fourth of July at the Beach

Fourth of July at Cape Cod was not that warm and overcast, but it didn’t stop us from hitting the beach. For lunch we ate at The Skipper, which is across the street from the beach were were relaxing on. We all had the “award winning” clam chowder. It was good, but could have been served hotter. Julie and Stephanie had the lobster roll and said it was great. Jess and Jen had the clam strip roll and I had the scallop roll. It was good, but the clam strips and the scallops were both fried and I think that when you fry seafood like that it all kind of tastes the same. After lunch we went back to the beach, of course.
