I saw this Anne Klein courdoroy jacket at Nordstrom. It was $159 marked down to $57, which was still a little steep, but I’d been looking around for a cute jacket for a while and I really liked it. And the saleswoman was freaking out about how great the jacket was and how much it was on sale. So, I tried it on and it looked great, except it was a little big. Since it was marked down so much they didn’t have many sizes left and my size wasn’t available. Whatever, I really liked it, but I didn’t have to have it. Or, so I told myself.
I wandered around and later on in the day I ended up at Marshall Field’s. I was looking for a shirt to go with these gray pants I had. I was digging through a sale rack and there it was, the jacket! And in my size! So I rushed to the dressing room and tried it on. It fit great but then I looked at the tag: $95?? Dang! I finally gave up realizing that it wasn’t meant to be. I went upstairs and was looking at some jeans and accidentally wandered into the petite section. I’m not too tall, but at the high-end of the petite scale, so sometimes I can get away with petite and sometimes I can’t. I found the jacket in the petite section and it was only $31. Of course, I had to get it. I got one size larger than I would get in the regular section and it fit pretty much the same. Score!
Can you tell I’ve been watching What Not To Wear a lot? I could be one of their mannequins, I’ve followed Stacy & Clinton’s rules so well.
