Always Something Crazy Going On at Washington Square

Last weekend these Amish-looking (but I don’t think they’re Amish) people were telling us to repent or face hell.

This crazy guy yelled things at them like “Jesus was a sexual deviant!”

He also told passers-by that we should all operate on a 9-day week and we should name the days after our friends. He sang crazy songs with lyrics he said that he wrote while he was channelling Frank Zappa. The people pictured above took a photo of them and he yelled at them saying, “You owe me money for that you b!$#@. You’re robbing my energy!” and then he made them sit through a personalized sermon. He told the woman below to stop reading her book and moved onto the next person when she didnt.

One good thing about all the rain that we’ve gotten over the past month is that New York’s drought is over and the water ban has been lifted. This is the first time I’ve seen the fountains in the city parks actually on.

Herb’s Pajamas

On Friday night I picked up a hardcover copy of Herb’s Pajamas for $2 (including tax!) at the Unoppressive Non-Imperialist Bargain Books store on my block. Today I just have a few final pages of the book remaining. I did most of my reading while soaking in the sun in Washington Square Park and Union Square Park. Felt so good.
