Chloe is Elona & Mike’s fabulous dog. She was a little annoyed with me because when we met I bent down to pet her and accidentally called her Cleo!

One of Michelle’s gifts was a soothing eye pillow in the shape of a cat. I wonder how her cats Doug & Jenny will feel about it!

1 bar of Oy Vey soap: $5.00, 1 Moses action figure: $6.95, 1 authentic voodoo doll $14.99, The look on Michelle’s face when she opens her gift from Larry: Priceless!

Elona, Michelle’s sister, planned a surprise party for last night to celebrate Michelle’s 30th birthday. Michelle was completely surprised. Elona and her husband, Mike, were perfect hosts and party planners.. everything went off without a hitch and everyone had a great time! More photos.

(Almost) Free Drinking

March 26th, 2003 · 4 Comments

Spaghetti Display at Pisa Pizza
So, the weekend before last, I was at this bar called Mad River on the Upper East Side and I filled out some survey/contest form and never thought about it again. Last week they called me to say that I won a free night at their bar. Me and another friend of mine could get in for free and drink for 2 hours and as many people as I could round up could do the same but for $5. Tonight was the night.

Larry had his army tank of an Expedition in the city and volunteered to give us a ride. It seemed like a good idea, but it ended up taking 1 hour to get there (dude, West Side Highway!!!) and we had to listen to the grumpy old men, Larry & Dennis, argue the entire time. Once we got there I was reminded again of what a cheap, frat party Mad River is. That place totally screws you on everything. After a couple drinks it didn’t really matter, it’s who you’re with and not where you are that matters.

We were talking about the Oscars and discussing CNN’s coverage of the war while it played on the bar TV, as Larry observed that “It’s a strange state of affairs when the best rapper is white, the best golfer is black, France thinks you’re arrogant, Germany won’t fight, and the tallest basketball player is Chinese.”

Afterward, while Jeannette went to The Food Emporium for pizza topping Reeses, Mark, Dennis, Eleanor and I went and got slices at Pisa Pizza. This gravity-defying spaghetti display is far-out after a few drinks. Nice reflection too..

Tis The Season for Money to FLY Out of Your Wallet

December 17th, 2002 · Comments Off

Another bad thing about Christmas shopping – when the money is flowing you want it to flow on yourself too. Today, I arrived early to my appointment on the Upper East Side so I stepped into Benetton. I left with 2 things for my mom and one for myself.
