Without missing a beat, I returned to New York, worked a full day and then joined everyone for a night out to wish Thea farewell after finishing her second to last day at our company. I’m exhausted but it was fun. Good luck, Thea. You will be missed!

A Trip to the Apple Store

I love the Apple Store in SoHo so when Eric and Ted said they were leaving to go there after work I tagged along. I wanted to check out the in-ear headphones and the iPod Minis but they didn’t have either of them in stock. I also was looking at iTrip, which I’m interested in getting if I end up moving myself to Chicago. Eric was looking at new laptops. Ted purchased SimCity 4 and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

I am in denial right now about my new position/boss requiring me to work on a PC laptop.

Vincent D’Onofrio in SoHo

So last night we’re out on the sidewalk outside of Vintage where we just had a wine tasting. I notice there are a bunch of trailers.. like the kind that are around when something is being filmed. In the corner of the window of one of the trailers there’s a piece of paper that says “Law & Order: Criminal Intent“. I started getting excited and taking photos of the trailer and the sign since Law & Order is one of my favorite shows. Meanwhile, back on the sidewalk, everyone else is discussing how Criminal Intent is their least favorite Law & Order show. I get back to the group and Ted is doing his best Vincent D’Onofrio imitation, being all serious and striking a pose, when who walks up directly behind him? Vincent D’Onofrio. We asked if we could take a picture with him and he paused and then said “yes”. You’d think he’d be asked this all the time and he’d immediately say “yes” or “no”, but it was like he actually paused to think about it. As we all arranged around Vincent and handed my camera we were reminded by one of “his people” that “Vincent has a tight schedule, he only has a minute!”

My Phone Number Has Been Changed
My Phone Number Has Been Changed, Tribeca, Manhattan

Ted told me that these flyers are being posted all over the neighborhood we live in. When I walked outside of work there was one posted on the sidewalk mailbox. Are they all over Lower Manhattan? I called the phone number expecting something promotional and what I got was a low quality answering machine message, a male voice saying “Hi, you’ve reached my new number. Please leave a message” then the answering machine beeeeeeeeeep. Doing a reverse look-up on AnyWho didn’t yield any results. … must do more investigation. .

Ted had four tickets to the NY Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils hockey game that he couldn’t use so Danielle, Stephanie, Jessica and I went up to Madison Square Garden to watch the game. Our seats were excellent – 5 rows from the ice and right behind the Rangers bench (the tickets’ face value was $150 each!). Being so close to the Ranger’s bench led me to my current obsession with Eric Lindros (hoping that all those concussions have made his stoopid enough to go out with me!). In the past I’ve been to Milwaukee Admiral and San Diego Gulls hockey games but never to an NHL game. It was also my first time at The Garden. Good times, good times.
