I got an audio copy of this essay for free and gave it a listen. You can also get the e-book for something like $0.99. Interesting point of view and definitely some great points made on guns and gun control.

This book took me a couple months to get through because I listened to it on audio book at the gym and it’s loooong. 30 hrs and 44 mins! But I loved it. This was the best book I’ve read or listened to in quite a while. I loved the narration on the audiobook as well. On Audible, 3,500 people averaged a 4.5/5.0 rating, so if you don’t believe me….
And if you’re thinking that you’re not into Stephen King, gore or horror, this is not like that at all. There is an element of fantasy, time travel, but it’s not gory or scary. More historical. Lee Harvey Oswald and JFK.

I don’t know what prompted it, but this book had been on my Amazon wishlist for years. I thought it was a Stephen King book and I hadn’t read a Stephen King book for years, so I ordered it for $0.75 off of Half.com recently. It was not that great, IMO. After I read the book I did some reading up on it and found out that it was written by Ridley Pearson as part of a promotional marketing campaign for Stephen King’s Rose Red television miniseries. That explains a lot. Not that the book can’t stand on it’s own, but I just didn’t believe it and a lot of it is more trashy romance book rather than thriller.

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is the worst Stephen King book. Not that it’s a bad book.. it’s mediocre.. I finished it in a week.. but I was disappointed in Stephen.. he can do better!
Radio depresses me. And not only because it’s terribly BAD.. but because music is so emotional to me. Every song I hear reminds me of something or someone and whether it’s a good or bad memory it still makes my heart ache for sitting home alone and not doing something. I’m in love with music, but I don’t enjoy having the radio on at home unless it’s talk radio. For background
noise I’d much rather have TV any day. But… sigh…. I stupidly sold that too early. I may get to borrow AJ’s but until then I will read. I am finishing "The Talisman" cowritten by Stephen King and Peter Straub tonight. Next up: "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis.
