Can anyone guess where this is?

Nathan Hale Statue, Magnificent Mile, Chicago
I will embarassingly admit that I couldn’t remember exactly who Nathan Hale was when I took this photo. When I got home I looked him up in Wikipedia and realized he was a captain in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War and is considered to be America’s first spy. Hale volunteered for an intelligence-gathering mission and was caught. When he wouldn’t tell the British anything they hanged him. Right before he was killed he gave a speech that included this famous quote: “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.” So now I remember… and hopefully won’t forget.
Hale’s statue is located in front of what is the original entrance to the Tribune Tower. Read more on the history of Tribune Tower and the Nathan Hale statue there.
Not to be all 6th-grade humor, but doesn’t it look like he peed his pants? Someone should fix that!

In July TV Land and the City of Chicago commemorated Bob Newhart’s role as Dr. Robert Hartley from The Bob Newhart Show with a life-sized sculpture. Until about October or so this statue sat on the sidewalk on Michigan Avenue pretty much right outside my office. Whenever I went outside and had my camera with me I took photographs of people interacting with it. The statue is moved now, to it’s permanent location, on Navy Pier.
