Frontera Fresco, The Loop, Chicago
I have a large backlog of photos I’ve taken and haven’t gone through and posted yet. A couple months ago I was downtown shopping on State Street. For lunch I tried out Frontera Fresco, the newest Rick Bayless restaurant, located inside Marshall Fields. My memory has dimmed a bit since the day I was there, but what I remember is that the food was great, for a fast food restaurant located inside a department store, and that it was really busy. I don’t think it took me a long time to get my food, but I do remember there were a lot of people and that the lines to order and to get your lunch were really confusing. Also, you got to pick what kind of Bayless’ salsa you wanted to go with your food. I’d go again.

Lights on State Street, The Loop, Chicago
I’m not really sure what these are supposed to be, but along State Street there are these huge light displays that have rainbow colored lights radiating out from the center to the tips over and over again.

Escalators at Marshall Fields, The Loop, Chicago
Yesterday Nancy came down and we spent the entire afternoon and evening shopping on State Street. Nuts on Clark, Nordstrom Rack, H & M, Govnor’s Pub for an early dinner, Marshall Field’s, Filene’s Basement and T.J. Maxx were the stores we hit up. Marshall Field’s was amazing. It’s like an entire mall in one building. Very much like Macy’s in NYC.
