Christ of the Loop

St. Peter’s Church, The Loop, Chicago

I feel like I’ve been running around with my mind in so many different directions – work, Chicagoist, eating healthier, exercising, keeping up with things at home (still not all the way unpacked and organized!) – that I haven’t been myself as far as photography goes. I’ve been rushing around past the things that I would normally pause and take photos of. Makes me kind of sad. One night a couple weeks ago I was rushing off somewhere in the Loop and I almost missed seeing St. Peter’s Church completely. Then I paused and thought, “I should take a photo” and immediately thought “I don’t have time!” and rushed off. Then I made myself go back and take the time. I need to take walks at lunch or something. I feel like a little creative piece of me is just missing and gone.

re St. Peter’s Church, Emporis says, “A giant crucifix by Latvian sculptor Arvid Strauss called “Christ of the Loop” fills the Gothic arch in the center of the main facade.”
