I love the Apple Store in SoHo so when Eric and Ted said they were leaving to go there after work I tagged along. I wanted to check out the in-ear headphones and the iPod Minis but they didn’t have either of them in stock. I also was looking at iTrip, which I’m interested in getting if I end up moving myself to Chicago. Eric was looking at new laptops. Ted purchased SimCity 4 and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

I am in denial right now about my new position/boss requiring me to work on a PC laptop.

Bitter Former Customer

Carwash

iPods irreplaceable battery lasts only 18 months

On the corner of 6th Avenue and Broome Street in SoHo there is a car wash that is closed, it’s under renovation. Towering above the car wash is an enormous ad for Apple’s iPod. Around the car wash is a make-shift plywood wall that, from beginning to end, is plastered with the same ads. With graffiti stenciled on the ads, a bitter former customer gets his revenge.

Vincent D’Onofrio in SoHo

So last night we’re out on the sidewalk outside of Vintage where we just had a wine tasting. I notice there are a bunch of trailers.. like the kind that are around when something is being filmed. In the corner of the window of one of the trailers there’s a piece of paper that says “Law & Order: Criminal Intent“. I started getting excited and taking photos of the trailer and the sign since Law & Order is one of my favorite shows. Meanwhile, back on the sidewalk, everyone else is discussing how Criminal Intent is their least favorite Law & Order show. I get back to the group and Ted is doing his best Vincent D’Onofrio imitation, being all serious and striking a pose, when who walks up directly behind him? Vincent D’Onofrio. We asked if we could take a picture with him and he paused and then said “yes”. You’d think he’d be asked this all the time and he’d immediately say “yes” or “no”, but it was like he actually paused to think about it. As we all arranged around Vincent and handed my camera we were reminded by one of “his people” that “Vincent has a tight schedule, he only has a minute!”

Shoe Shopping in SoHo

Probably one of my least favorite things to do. But I totally needed to get some casual black shoes for the winter. There wasn’t anything I loved this year. At each store I went to there were shoes that would do the job. At Steve Madden there were 3 pairs, all about the same price, so I picked these, the most comfortable ones. I like them.. but I wish I could just get my old pair of Nine Wests from last year!! I wore them so much that I wore holes in them. Expect to see these new shoes in the Street Writing soon.
