On Sunday we went out to Elgin for Doug & Naoko’s annual BBQ. This year they had grilled mahi mahi fish tacos and kalbi ribs. Yum! Dallas brother, Jordan, and his dad, George, are both in town visiting from Seattle and North Carolina. Jordan actually came here right from a 2-week jaunt in Alaska for work, so he had lots of smoked Copper River salmon. He said that it was just caught like last week and that a son of his coworker had done it all himself. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but it was really good. Much sweeter than I’d expected.

Nice Stripper Heels

The funny thing is that right after I took this photo of these shoes in the window of Diana Shoes on Milwaukee Ave, I looked a little farther to the right and saw a pair of Puma slippers that were totally cool. I bought them and wear them all the time now.

Shoe Shopping in SoHo

Probably one of my least favorite things to do. But I totally needed to get some casual black shoes for the winter. There wasn’t anything I loved this year. At each store I went to there were shoes that would do the job. At Steve Madden there were 3 pairs, all about the same price, so I picked these, the most comfortable ones. I like them.. but I wish I could just get my old pair of Nine Wests from last year!! I wore them so much that I wore holes in them. Expect to see these new shoes in the Street Writing soon.
