Ranee’s Last Day

September 24th, 2014 · No Comments

Monday was Ranee’s last day at work. On Tuesday morning she moved to San Francisco. So sad that I won’t see her every day any more, but so happy for her new adventure! For lunch on Monday a group of us went to the Cultural Center to check out the art exhibits.

Of note were CHGO DSGN, an exhibit of local artists. Ranee’s husband Greg worked on the Divvy branding and launch and there was a cool presentation of the work. Also, I spotted some things by Martin Kastner, the designer and sculptor of Alinea’s (and Next and all of those) custom service items. I’ve met him before and I’ve been to Alinea twice, so cool to see.

Even better I was surprised to see an exhibit of Hebru Brantley‘s work. I immediately recognized it from murals I’ve seen around the city. Super crushing on his work!

Thanks to Ranee for the fun lunch. And thanks for being a great friend! We bonded a few years ago when we were both traveling to Boston a ton for work and remained friends since. I’ll miss you, but see you soon!t

Chris’s Last Day at Work

August 30th, 2014 · No Comments

Friday was my friend and coworker Chris’s last day. Kind of a bummer since we really got to know each other on some mobile projects I’ve worked on and he’d become one of my favorite developers and team leaders. He will definitely be missed!

Isobar* Summer Event

August 23rd, 2014 · No Comments

This is not Oak Street Beach! After our annual meeting this year, we were supposed to head to the beach. The weather was so bad on Thursday and was predicted to be the same on Friday, so Plan B (roof top – with retractable roof at American Junkie) was activated. Of course, that means that Friday was a beautiful, sunny day. It was so humid, though, after so much rain on Thursday, I was glad to be inside.

As always, it was nice to hang out with all my work friends, not in the work setting. I came home early (before 8 p.m.!) because Makai was sick, but it was probably for the best, the way everyone was doing shots of fireball and tequila like it was going out of style! Great night though. Fun day.

*Also note that we are officially Isobar, not Roundarch and not Roundarch Isobar!
