Roger the Parking Attendant :: Wrigleyville, Chicago

My colleague, Tom, is in town visiting from Boston so my coworkers and I took him out for a night on the town. Let me clarify.. I’m new to town and Jennifer and Gabe just moved here from Dallas. .. and Tom was visiting .. so a couple Chicago natives took us all out for a night.

We started at Cubby Bear, which is a huge sports bar kitty corner from Wrigley Field. On the way out we had a parking attendant take our touristy photograph. But this wasn’t any parking attendant. This was the perfectionist parking attendant, Roger, who spent 10 minutes shuffling us around trying to make the photo just right. He was cute though. Well.. not like CUTE cute, but he was trying so hard. Most of us then continued on to dinner at Tango Sur, an amazing Argentinian steak house. I had some huge fillet mignon and some spinach mashed potatoes. After this Barnum, John, Tom and I continued on for a couple more drinks and a shot at The Union Tavern where we met up with Brian With 45 Nicknames. And then a quick snack and more drinks at Iggy’s and somehow it was past 3 am and WAY past time to go home.

Street Writing is Back!

November 12th, 2003 · 4 Comments

The Street Writing project is now back up at this catchy new URL: http://streetwriting.rachelleb.com. A great big, enormous thanks to Peter Luttrell, a FOAF, at 3jane out in LA. Peter has graciously offered to sponsor & host the Street Writing project for me, has given me lots of support and advice and has helped me set everything up on his server and with my current ISP over the past few days. Couldn’t have done it without him. So go to 3janeHosting with all of your hosting needs!

Thanks also to everyone else who has emailed or commented with words of advice for hosting solutions and for support of the Street Writing project. It really means a lot. Total strangers offering to host the project because they like it so much. Awesome!

PS. I just bought a new pair of shoes yesterday.. look for them to make their appearance soon!
