On 6th Avenue a guy on the street says to the attractive girl a few paces ahead of me: “I heard that milk, it does a body good, but day-am! How much milk you been drinkin’?!”

A woman walking down Hudson Street gets bumped into by a guy passing by. She turns to her two girlfriends and says “I have this problem! Everyone bumps into me – I mean, you guys can see me, right?”

During the second day of the blackout, a handsome gay man walks onto the pier at the end of Christopher Street at Hudson River Park, looks around at all of the beautiful half-dressed men who are out in the sun and says, “My day just got a whole lot better!”

somewhat narcissistic, but i like his photo.

Every morning the man who stands on our block says to me, in his thick New York accent, “Good moh-ning, dah-ling. How-ah-ya? Have a good day.”

Last night outside of the Screening Room, one middle-aged, poorly-dressed woman says to another: “I love what you’re wearing! Is that Tar-gay?” I think she meant “Tar-jay” as in “Target“.

These last two days in Manhattan have been beautiful. The weather has been perfect – not too hot, not too cold. Everyone’s coming out and enjoying the weather and with that, it was difficult to find anywhere to eat outside for Julie’s birthday. We stopped at about 5 different places up and down West Broadway in SoHo and every place had about a 2 hour wait. Finally, we were way south, like by Grand Street when we came across a place called Diva that said that they only had one couple in front of us and then we could be seated outside. We ducked inside the bar next door, Sliver, and waited. The maitre ‘d said she’d come over and get us when our table was ready. 1 1/2 hours, and a few drinks later, we were still sitting at the bar. When we went to check on how long it was going to take for dinner, Diva told us that they could deliver our food to the bar. .. so we did. It was kind of bizarre eating pretty good food on little tiny tables in the middle of a club pumping out rap/dance tunes. . but it worked. It was a fun time. Happy birthday, Jules! You’re the first of the batch to venture on to 28! :)

Overheard: Yesterday on 6th Avenue “They could write a Judy Blume novel on my back!” What the? And this morning at the deli, a girl walks up to the counter where there are 20 different kinds of bagels lined up at eye-level, leans in, looks at the deli worker and says “Do you sell bagels?”
