These last two days in Manhattan have been beautiful. The weather has been perfect – not too hot, not too cold. Everyone’s coming out and enjoying the weather and with that, it was difficult to find anywhere to eat outside for Julie’s birthday. We stopped at about 5 different places up and down West Broadway in SoHo and every place had about a 2 hour wait. Finally, we were way south, like by Grand Street when we came across a place called Diva that said that they only had one couple in front of us and then we could be seated outside. We ducked inside the bar next door, Sliver, and waited. The maitre ‘d said she’d come over and get us when our table was ready. 1 1/2 hours, and a few drinks later, we were still sitting at the bar. When we went to check on how long it was going to take for dinner, Diva told us that they could deliver our food to the bar. .. so we did. It was kind of bizarre eating pretty good food on little tiny tables in the middle of a club pumping out rap/dance tunes. . but it worked. It was a fun time. Happy birthday, Jules! You’re the first of the batch to venture on to 28!
