Lesson Learned

When you’re laying around all lazy on a Sunday watching the Packers get killed and you get an email from your host saying that they renamed your mt-comments.cgi file because you’re getting too much spam and using up too many resources, it probably isn’t a good time to say “oh, to hell with it! I’m upgrading my MT!” Because that’s what I did and I totally screwed my shit up so much that I couldn’t even log into MT. I monkeyed around for hours last night and didn’t accomplish anything except freaking myself out.
Luckily, Neil came to my rescue. That guy rocks. And he has a cute baby.

Redesign

Since Chicagoist is getting upgraded and migrated to a new server I thought it was time to spiff my personal site up. I upgraded to Movable Type 3.11 and am doing some redesign. Not everything is completed so if some pages look franked up that’s why. Everything should be functioning, even if it looks odd.
Update: 09.27.04 @ 7:11am: I think this is going to be in transition for a while. Hopefully things will remain functioning through the transition, but I’ve got a busy couple days so we’ll see how long it takes for me to get everything straightened out.

Trying to export MT entries into TypePad. I’m not an idiot.. I once exported from Blogger to MT.. but I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. .. so on I go.. I’ll figure it out.

Beta Testing Typepad

For the next while or so, maybe a week?, I’m going to be over here tinkering around and beta testing a new hosted service for creating weblogs called TypePad (it’s by the makers of MoveableType). Come over and visit.. it’s where the updates will be!
