River North, Chicago
As seen on my disgusting but free McDonald’s latte.

One day I was really hung over and got McDonald’s for lunch. I though this slam-dunk, throw-your-garbage-away icon on the bag was kind of weird.

McDonald’s, River North, Chicago
I think her’s is the only McDonald’s in Chicago that doesn’t have the Shamrock Shake right now. If it will make you feel any better, Hanna, the shake wasn’t very good. I agree with the commenter who said it tasted kind of orange. Still, I drank the whole shake. Good thing I only got a small!

Big Mac, Michigan Ave., Chicago
I was pretty hung over yesterday from having too much fun at the Chicagoist Happy Hour the night before. I was craving grease but in the morning was rushing in for a client call (which got canceled! guh!) so I didn’t have time to get breakfast. For lunch the urge had only increased, so McDonald’s seemed like a great idea. I’ve been to McDonalds only a few times in the last couple years and couldn’t even remember the last time I got a burger there. The last times I was there was to try out their fruit and salad options. So, Big Mac, it was. And instead of making me feel better, it just felt like a hard ROCK in the pit of my stomach! Ahhh. Should have gone to Blackie’s.

McDonalds Ad in the Grand St. Red Line Station, Chicago
Reason? It says “don’t stare too long, you’ll miss your train”. But the ad is positioned on the wall behind the train tracks. So the train drives in front of it and blocks it.. and there’s no way you can stare at it and miss your train.
