Lake Crescent is another of Washington’s many mountain lakes. Though the lake itself is accessible by car, we had to hike a mile through a mossy forest to reach Marymere Falls.

On August 4, we started a two-day trek into the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. From Seattle we drove north, took the ferry across part of the Puget Sound from Edmond to Kingston, drove up towards Port Angeles to Hurricane Ridge where we hiked, to Lake Crescent where we hiked to Marymere Falls, down through Forks and along the shore to Ocean Shores where we stayed for the night. Click to see a map of our driving route.

(I’ll post photos of the rest of our day soon!)
