Yesterday I arrived at my doctors appointment about 10 minutes early so I crossed the street and took these photos at the Art Institute and Millennium Park. The last photo was taken out of the window of the waiting room. Compare it with the photo I took out of the same window over the summer.

The trees on Michigan and around the downtown/loop area have little white lights on them for the upcoming holidays.

Several people were gathered watching the painter in the window. Most people moved on and I stayed and took a few photographs. The man in the orange shirt in the background saw me and said something to the painter who turned around and waved to me with his paintbrush. Caught off guard, I gave an embarrassed wave and hurried along.

At Millennium Park the Ice Rink is ready but not open yet. Cloud Gate is hard to photograph in the dark. I think I need to bring my tripod.

January 8 – January 12, 2003. Nancy’s Vacation in NYC. Rachelle & Nancy at Washington Square Park. Right after we took this photo of ourselves, Josh called. Then right after that, we walked past Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Bird at my Window

Bird in the Window One morning I woke up and there was this bird at my window. He was looking into my room, like he wanted to come in and say “hello”. I know that a bird at your window is superstitious, but am only able to determine that a bird flying in your window is bad luck and a bird fluttering at your window is good luck. So what is a bird that’s just nicely looking in? I thought about putting some seed out on the fire escape for him, but figured that if I did that there would soon be 100 birds looking in at me. Voyeurism. With birds! That’s just not right..
