Also on Friday night I went by Marshall Fields. Their holiday windows for this year weren’t officially unveiled until Saturday, but on Friday they were done with heavy drapes over the window. Most passers-by just walked on, but several of us stopped to pull the drapes back and take a sneak peak.

The first Marshall Fields holiday windows were done in 1897 and this year is the last year.. There will be holiday windows next year, no doubt, but by then the store will be called Macy’s, so this is the last year of the Marshall Fields holiday windows.

Mom & Rachelle :: Marshall Field’s ‘Snow White’ Holiday Windows, The Loop, Chicago

Between dinner and going to the theater my mom and I went to Marshall Field’s to look at the holiday windows. This year’s theme is Snow White. As you walk around the north, west & south sides of the building you see bits of the story in each window. I don’t have photos of all of the windows, but you get the idea. I was impressed that the windows were as well done as Macy’s holiday windows, which are world renown.
