So, a couple months ago my headphones bit the dust and I needed to get a new pair. I ended up with these Sony MDR-XB40EX 13.5mm High Sensitivity Driver Extra Bass EX Earbuds (could they have a longer name!?). They got good reviews online, and were not super-cheap, but not super-expensive either. The earbud sticks out farther from my ear than I’m used to, but I’m finding them to be pretty comfortable. Also, and this may be the best part, they cord never gets tangled! They came with a little zippered case for storage and no matter how I just shove them in there, they always just come out untangled later on.

I’ve been using Apple in-ear earbud headphone almost daily for years. I’ve been mostly happy. The current pair I was using was getting a little worse for the wear and when it snagged on something when I was walking, the connector piece that plugs in broke even more and they were done for good.
I was exercising in the park and didn’t have any headphones to wear so I pulled out the ones that came with my iPhone and used those. Bad idea. They’re hard plastic and hurt my ears within the first few minutes of wearing them.
I was going to go up to the Apple store and get new headphones on Monday, but then I remembered that Dallas had a pair of Sony’s he really liked. I asked him where he got them and he said Radio Shack. Radio Shack? They still exist? I headed over and got these Sony MDR-EX56LP High Performance Earbuds and you know what? They’re awesome. I’m no audiophile, but they sound good to me and are so comfortable. I can’t even tell anything is in my ear. More comfortable than the Apple earbuds, I think. I’m happy with this purchase and hope it lasts a while!

New Headphones

Yesterday the song Bootylicious came on my iPod and the bass was rattling so badly in my right ear bud that I couldn’t even hear the song. So last night I finally bought some new headphones. These are Apple’s in-ear model.
Confession: Since I returned from vacation I have been cheating on rachelleb.com and writing daily for another site. Until that site is officially launched and I get into a groove, updates here will be sporadic.

A Trip to the Apple Store

I love the Apple Store in SoHo so when Eric and Ted said they were leaving to go there after work I tagged along. I wanted to check out the in-ear headphones and the iPod Minis but they didn’t have either of them in stock. I also was looking at iTrip, which I’m interested in getting if I end up moving myself to Chicago. Eric was looking at new laptops. Ted purchased SimCity 4 and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!
I am in denial right now about my new position/boss requiring me to work on a PC laptop.

I finally purchased some new Sony headphones and I’m in love again! These are the same model as my headphones that broke in November. YES! My music sounds awesome again!!!!!!!
