One of these breakfasts is Dallas’s and one is mine. Guess which is which!
Dallas went golfing with his dad and I headed out with Makai. We stopped at the Hawaiian Trading Post and went in…. but the power was out! And they asked us to leave! One the way back to the car Makai took a photo in the fake wave. He has that Shaka down!
Makai and I then went down to the Poipu area to see Spouting Horn, a natural blow hole. I think I’d seen it once before.. but then never really went back. Makai wasn’t that impressed. Maybe we’ll go back when he’s a little older. All around Spouting Horn are stands set up with people selling things. I got Makai a frog musical instrument that looks something like this. I got myself a sunrise shell necklace.
For lunch we went to Keoki’s Paradise, an old favorite. They were doing construction on the outdoor deck area. I had my first lava flow of the trip!
To kill a little bit of time Makai and I shopped around at Kukui’ula. Only in Hawaii do they have a Mother’s Day sale on bikinis! This was at Poipu Surf. I got Makai a rooster cap there because he was so obsessed with the roosters, I couldn’t say no! One of our friends liked the photo we posted on Facebook and we had to go back and buy him a hat too!
After golfing, Dallas met up with us at Kukui’ula. We got ice cream at Lappert’s, but since Makai barely ate any last time, we just got him a cookie. He loved it!
For dinner we went to Wrangler’s Steakhouse right in Waimea. Dallas’s friend Nick was singing there so it was nice entertainment while dining. And we got to talk to him for a bit.
