Pink is the New Blog posted these photos of Justin Timberlake tailgating at a “recent” Packers game. Too bad the “recent” game was probably the one we lost to the Bears. Still, this made my day.

Don’t know why I didn’t bring this up earlier. Like, on Sunday. I admit that I wanted Brett Favre to retire years ago and the past few years the Packers haven’t looked great. But with Brett performing this year and the Packers at 3-0 for the season so far, it’s hard not to be excited! (Knocking on tons of wood right now.) Holding records like second all-time in career interceptions thrown by a quarterback isn’t so hot, but a bunch of these other records and milestones are pretty exciting. Call me fair-weather, but I’m kind of glad to still have Favre around. I hope that after he retires as quarterback (at the end of this year??) he stays around and becomes a QB coach or something.
Tien sent me this list from themilwuakeechannel:
1. The Packers are the last remaining publicly-owned team. None of its 111,921 stockholders receive a profit.
2. The Packers play in major sports’ smallest TV market — No. 68.
3. The Packers have won a record 12 NFL titles.
4. The Packers were the first NFL team to open a Hall of Fame and museum in 1967.
5. Only two other professional sports venues have been in continuous use longer than Lambeau Field, which opened in 1957 –Boston’s Fenway Park and Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
6. Only 10 professional sports teams have played in the same city and used the same nickname longer than the Packers (nine in baseball, one in hockey).
7. The Packers have season ticketholders from all 50 states.
8. The Packers have a season ticket waiting list of more than 67,000 names.
9. The Packers were briefly kicked out of the NFL in 1922 for using illegal players (two active Notre Dame players). The team was reinstated later that year.
10. The Packers were named for their first owner, the Acme Packing Company.
11. The Packers were the first professional team to have a mascot in 1919 — a dog named Olive, who liked to eat Durkee olives.
12. Brett Favre’s first NFL completion was to… Brett Favre. He caught his own deflected pass for a loss of 7 yards against the Buccaneers in 1992.
I actually only knew 3 or 4 of them. I also just read that antlers are now prohibited from Lambeau Field. Man, what a bunch of fascists! Antlers? Seriously? Can just imagine the banned weapons list: No guns, knives, fireworks, explosives, arrows, ANTLERS. Packalope is sad!

After the scrimmage there was a fireworks show at Lambeau Field.

The Packers Family Night scrimmage is a fun way to enjoy Lambeau Field for pretty cheap (tickets sold out in a couple hours but if you got them they were only $8). There was no score in the game, it was more just for practice for the teams. And just to be in Lambeau Field.. there’s nothing else like it.
