A few extras from my trip to New York. Above is a photo from my room at the Wyndham Garden Times Square South. The room was really small, but pretty nice anyway. After I checked in and got to the room I looked out the window and saw this:

That night I didn’t see friends for dinner. I was tired! I took a nap then went out for a walk. Around the corner from the hotel was Thai Select. Swanky inside.

I just got a take out order and went back to the hotel. I thought their wontons were really pretty (tasty too!).

I was finished eating dinner and was doing some work on my computer when there was a knock on the door. I looked through the peephole and saw a hotel employee with the tray. Through the door I yelled, “I didn’t order anything!” and he said “Courtesy of the hotel.” I opened the door and this is what he brought in:

I forgot that when I booked the hotel I signed up for the Wyndham points program. When I signed up there were some questions about personal preferences. I vaguely remember checking off some boxes about fruit and Diet Coke. It was a nice surprise.

At the Javits Center the outside of the building is pretty cool – the glass and the space frame structure. But the inside is all cement and bleh, drab. Seems dated. At least you can still see the cool glass and structure from parts of the inside.
