It snowed for the last few days, accumulating about a foot on the ground. Yesterday morning there was an earthquake and then it all ended. And, no, I did not feel the quake, but I did feel the one that happened few years ago.

I lived in Southern California for two years and didn’t experience an earthquake until today in Chicago. An earthquake that measured 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit in south eastern Illinois today.
I’ve been sick all week. I had a chest cold and now a head cold. Up until yesterday I had a fever of 102. I’ve been starting to feel better, but had a hard time sleeping last night. I woke up at 4 a.m. and couldn’t fall back asleep. I got up and went to the bathroom and then went back to bed. Dallas was sleeping in our spare bed upstairs because he has to travel for two weeks starting Monday and doesn’t want to get sick.
Anyway, I was just laying there in bed with my eyes closed when I felt the bed start to sway. I thought Dallas was walking around upstairs, which sometimes causes the house to sway a little, but he wasn’t. I don’t know how long it happened, but longer than I expected. Long enough to think “WTF!?” and sit up and look at the bed. I had no idea what was happening and just layed back down. A while later, after not being able to fall back asleep, I turned the TV on. Earthquake. It happened right at the time the bed was swaying.
