The last day of our vacation was last Saturday. That afternoon we flew out of Honolulu on a redeye and landed in Chicago early Sunday morning.
The morning of our last day I got up early and packed all our stuff. Then I took a walk around Waikiki trying to soak it all up one last time.
All vacation Kathy had been building up these malasadas from Leonard’s Bakery in Honolulu so we stopped by to try some on the last day. Malasadas are portugeuse fried dough….. and soooooooooo yummy. They tasted like they were fresh out of the fryer when we ordered them. I scarfed down 1 1/2 in like 3 seconds and had another one when we were at the airport.
Finally, we shopped around and went to the old Dole Cannery, which is a kind of crappy shopping center, to kill time before our flight.
That’s it. Im sad to be done with vacation, both the real vacation and the virtual one here!
