Dallas and I were out this weekend at Brownstone with Danny, Cousin and Kristin. Danny and Cousin were trying to figure out where something was so I text messaged 466453 (GOOGLE) and a few seconds later it texted me back with the address and phone number. This Google SMS service is always so impressive to people and seems not to be a popular, or maybe just not a well-known, feature so I thought I’d do my duty and share it.
Add 466453 as a contact in your phone and any time your out you can just text it. So, for example, if you were looking for the bar called the Long Room in Chicago type “long room chicago” and you’d get the results to the right. It’s so handy when you’re not nearby the internet
. There are also a ton of other things you can do like find movies or get the weather report or find out airline information, but I mostly just use it for finding businesses.
Here’s more information about Google SMS.
About our night at Brownstone: Guess who drank 12 of the 14 Miller Lites ordered and then drank one more to make it a baker’s dozen of Miller Lites? Also, we already know this, but $3.75 for a Miller Lite is a racket! You can buy a 12-pack for about $10 and here we paid $52 for 14 of them. I guess you’re also paying for the ambiance and the company and the waitress service and the option of having food prepared for you, though.
