This week the Paulina Brown Line Station closed for a year for renovations that will modernize the stop and allow for increased capacity. All the things that need to be done to a hundred year old station and track. The Paulina stop is the one that Dallas and I used the most.

So, what to do? My commute on the way to work probably won’t change, since I’ve been taking the #11 Lincoln bus to work a lot. I don’t mind relaxing on the way to work. The bus always has a seat so I can sit and read. For some reason I don’t mind that it takes a little longer to get to work. On the way home, though… I took the #11 home once and it was excruciating. So I tried taking the Brown Line to Addison and actually, it’s not bad. The walk isn’t really farther than the walk was to Paulina, so it should work out pretty well.
I’m still kind of sad about the Paulina stop. The thing I’ll always remember about it is the clean cut, white-haired man who worked the evening/night shift. He always played jazz and burned incense.
