I used to walk past the Benito Juarez statue every day, but now it’s been years since I regularly passed by. One day over the summer I went for a walk at lunch and said hello to my old pal. This is his hand.

Ever since the Sun-Times building destruction began I’ve had to change my walking route to work. Now every day I say good morning and sometimes good evening to Benito Juarez, the former Mexican president who is regarded as Mexico’s greatest and most beloved leader. He’s been looking really cold lately. Someone should sculpt him a scarf and hat already.
