Anish Kapoor didn’t reveal the name of his sculpture in Millennium Park until the very last panel was in place and the sculpture was fully assembled. As the sculpture was being built Chicagoans started calling it “The Bean” and the name stuck even after Kapoor announced its name to be “Cloud Gate“.
