Last week Roundarch Isobar had a summer social event in the Goose Island beer garden tent in Millennium Park. There was an open bar adn catered appetizers and also a beer expert on hand to guide us through a tasting of four specialty Goose Island beers. The beer garden was just east of the Pritzker Pavilion where an Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Tribute was playing. Some people went to see the band up close, but most of us enjoyed the music from afar. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time beer tasting, listening to the music and just hanging out.

I have even more photos that I’ll share in another post.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from Chicagoist’s Ctrl-Alt-Rock event on Thursday night. I think it was even more of a success than last year. We had 4 bands play and I negotiated a deal with Goose Island to get a few kegs of 312 Urban Wheat donated. Double Door agreed to sell the 312 for $3/cup and I put up a $300 tab so all of the 312 beer was either free or only $3. The bands were really great and probably about 300 – 400 (??) people came out even though it was only about 3 degrees outside. It was a fun time!

More recap here and more photos here and here.
