We were at Makai’s doctors office on Halsted today for his 6-month check up (!!!) and this was the view across the street! Pretty crazy! And so huge. I could have stared at it for a long time. Lots of action. The receptionist told me they were building a new Mariano’s (of course), a movie theater, stores, restaurants, and maybe even a bowling alley. I did a little research and found this article. The receptionist was totally right. She was excited for maybe some new lunch spots, but bummed to lose their view. .. and don’t start on how this will affect traffic in the area!

CHIRP Presents First Time: First Move
Sara and I went to Martyr’s for First Time: First Move, a topic which was interpreted in a many different ways! We got there early so we could get a seat and eat. Martyr’s food? Not that great. But it didn’t really matter because, like always, the stories and story tellers were awesome!

Makai Meets the Easter Bunny
Over the weekend some of my family visited (more on that later) and my mom and Jess went with Makai and me to meet the Easter Bunny in Roscoe Village. There was no line or anything, he was just hanging around outside of Village Paperie, which was perfect. It was 76 degrees outside, so we took Makai for a visit and then took a stroll around. I was afraid he would be afraid, but he wasn’t! Yay. The little bunny was a gift from grandpa and grandma.
Jess didn’t really want to go by the Easter Bunny, but he got her in the end!
Watership Down by Richard Adams
Watership Down: A Novel
finished 04.08.14
476 pages about bunnies that were published before I was born? No thanks! I bought this book last year some time and just never read it. Finally got into it and while some parts (the tales the bunnies told) were tedious, I really enjoyed the rest.
Oh, April!
Snow! The winter that will not end.
