Last week some of my coworkers and I went to Aria (in the Fairmont, next to our office) for a Restaurant Week lunch. For $22 we got three courses. This was the menu:
APPETIZER
yuzu pickled beet salad
candied walnuts / aerated chévre / petite citrus greens / soy balsamic reduction
or
miso soup
shiro miso / wakame / green onion / mushrooms / tofu
ENTREE
kung pao chicken
black bean chili / celery / squash / snap peas red bell pepper / bok choy
or
sous-vide short rib
colvi greens / saffron baby yukons / bone marrow jus
DESSERT
house made chocolate truffles
toasted sesame / banana coconut / curry / earl grey

I’d been to Aria only once before. With Margaret. In 2004!!! So .. it was about time I went back. I had the beet salad and the short ribs and both were really delicious… as were the truffles. It was nice to get out of the office for some socialization with my coworkers. And I was happy that I was able to participate in restaurant week (not counting Toronto’s restaurant week).
