Winterlicious at Colborne Lane, Toronto

One night we went to Colborne Lane for an official team dinner. We had Roundarch Isobar employees from three different offices, Chicago, Boston, and New York, so it was nice to get everyone together. Colborne Lane was participating in Winterlicious, which is pretty much the same as Chicago’s Restaurant Week, where a ton of awesome restaurants have set menus for set (reduced) pricing.

Colborne Lane was pretty fancy. The food has kind of small portions, but was so delicious. The flavors were really layered and well-thought out. And actually, a few people thought they were still going to be hungry at the end but found that after three courses they were completely satisfied. So, I’ll reword that and say that the portions are “just right” sized, it’s just that we’re used to huge portions. I really enjoyed the food, drinks and socializing with my awesome coworkers here. Colborne Lane definitely was a great place for a relaxing dinner after a long conference day.

Tom yum soup + chestnut + shiitake mushroom + crispy chicken wing + prawn**

Roasted winter roots + fennel + kefir + broken emulsion + dill

Pickled Irish organic salmon + creme fraiche + avocado + puffed tapioca + yuzu vinaigrette

Braised pork belly + fermented black bean + lily bulb + maitake mushroom + chicharon**

Strip loin + celery root + pickled burdock + fried spinach + yu choy

Wild mushroom risotto + whipped mascarpone + amaranth

Chocolate bar + caramelized peanut + black cherry + hazelnut + banana sorbet**

Pumpkin pie + candied kumquat + crystalized sage + ginger toffee + lemon sour cream ice cream

Dulce de leche cheesecake + coffee cake + cocoa nib + white chocolate + blood orange sorbet
