Maha`ulepu Beach

We’ve gone to Gillin’s Beach a bunch of times (at least 1, 2, 3 times), where you go down the private road and through the Grove Farm gate to the parking area and then hike down to the beach. Usually we get to the beach and plop down there or go to the right and sit. This time we hiked more to the left and hiked down the beach for a bit til we got over more towards Maha`ulepu Beach. So beautiful. We sort of had to drag the boys out of the house because it was football Sunday, but it was so worth it. Little did they know that we wouldn’t even be able to get cell service for score updates!

By the way, Maha`ulepu is a research site and habitat for endangered plants and animals and is also a sacred area for native Hawaiians. To learn more about Maha`ulepu preservation, check out Malama Maha`ulepu.
