Get the refund AND keep the item you were going to return. Amazon has the best customer service.

Yep! It was actually the book. This was before I had my e-reader. I think the refund was $9.99. So they gave me the money and let me keep the book.

That’s pretty crazy. Their margins must be so slim that the return + restock would cost more? Good on you, Amazon.

That happened to me last month. I needed to return a mailbox (wedding decor, blah blah, stupid) and they told me not to bother. $16 back in my bank account instantly, mailbox went outside my apartment to be picked up be scavengers.
