Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless at O’Hare

I have spent a lot of time at O’Hare this year and my preferred airline is American. One thing I am loving is that Rick Bayless has a restaurant, Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless, nearby the American gates at O’Hare. The tortas are great, and I don’t mean “great for airport food.” They’re so good! Once I was traveling in the morning and got the yogurt and that was good too! The only thing I was disappointed with on any of my visits was that once I got a side of guacamole for $2 and it was literally like 2 tablespoons of guacamole. I thought that was quite a rip off, especially since I’d just been to Mexico where you get a whole plate for not much more money than that! Otherwise, everything I’ve ever had was excellent.

I’ve also thought the same thing about the side guacamole, so I asked a very nice manager what the deal was. They said that it’s a 2 oz portion (Not 2 tbls) and finding ripe avocados in Chicago can sometime prove to be difficult and expensive. $2 for a side guacamole is understandable.
