NATO in Chicago

May 18th, 2012 · No Comments

This weekend is the NATO summit in Chicago. It’s a big deal, to say the least. All week long there have been protestors in The Loop and nearby my office. This photo was taken on Monday outside of the Prudential building, where Obama’s Chicago headquarters are located. Eight people were arrested. The Prudential building is 2 buildings away from the building my office is in.

Aside from the protesters, all week long we have had quite a show of military drills, fly bys and news copters. Remember the awesome view we have from the 40th floor? It’s a great view of air activity as well, we’re finding. A couple guys even have binoculars to get a close-up view of the action. (Check out the description of one of the drills here.)

Lucky for me, I am flying out tomorrow for a weekend in New York and I’m working from home on Monday, so I will hopefully miss most of the real action. This week has been enough!
