The building one south of the building I work in is 300 North LaSalle. It opened in 2009 and it has been really nice to work next door. As you can see in this photo, there is public space on the waterfront, which is really nice. On occasion I’ve come out and taken a seat just to take in the air and sun and water for a few minutes during a hectic day.
The building also has Chicago Cut Steakhouse. I’ve gone once for lunch. It was good. Fancy. I was glad I wasn’t paying. Dallas has been there on a business lunch too and he really liked it. He’s a better judge of steak than I am, so I’ll take his word for it.
On the lower level, the river level, there’s Cafe 300, or “300 Club,” as we like to call it. It’s a cafeteria that’s actually pretty decent. They have a salad bar, wraps, sandwiches, a grill, pizza, pasta, sushi, everything. And a lot of it is made to order. And you can’t beat the location. If you have the time, it’s so nice to sit outside next to the river and eat. Even if you sit inside, the view is still great.
As far as the CFD boat, I hope it wasn’t called in to either of these restaurants or to 300 North LaSalle!
