In July I heard about a new sculpture that was installed at Pritzker Park on the corner of State Street and Van Buren. It is called EYE and is by the internationally-renowned Chicago-based contemporary artist Tony Tasset. I went to see the three-story tall sculpture in August and here are the photos I took.
Tasset has also created a companion piece called CARDINAL. It is an “installation of 156 street banners revealing a bold red cardinal – the state bird – in flight against a bright blue sky, unfolding like a flipbook on State Street lamp posts north from Congress Parkway to Wacker Drive.”
EYE and CARDINAL will only be on display until October, so make sure you check it out in the next few weeks!
