Logan Square Produce Truck

Across from the Chase bank on Milwaukee Avenue, in front of the thrift store, there’s always a produce truck parked with fruits and veggies piled and hanging all over it. The day I took this photo it actually wasn’t that loaded down. I’ve seen it with far more produce.

Logan Square Chase Bank Mural

I’m not sure exactly what the mural on the Chase Bank on Milwaukee Avenue is, but it seems to have a lot of Mexican themes, which would make sense with the history of the neighborhood.

Future Site of Logan Square Community Open Space

I’ve heard rumors that this space will be reconfigured to accommodate the farmers market. And other rumors that an orchard will be planted. And others arguing against an orchard. I don’t really know what’s going here, but it has to be better than a mud pit full of cars, right?

Seven on State

A couple of my coworkers love to go to Macy’s food court, Seven on State, for lunch. This is a high-end food court with offerrings from Takashi Yagihashi, Marcus Samuelsson, and Rick Bayless. My coworkers particularly like Chef Yagihashi’s spot, Noodles by Takashi.

There’s another part of this food court where they just serve soups and sandwiches and salads. Usually I got to the salad spot. They do a pretty good job with interestingness and fresh ingredients. I wish the line for Frontera Fresco wasn’t so long. I’d hit that every time! Ah well. I try to only go out for lunch one time per week or less. This is a good change of pace now and then.
