This is a short book composed of short chapters that were really easy to read on the train to and from work. The book was written while Mark Twain was in Hawaii before he became famous. Here he’s narrating his adventures around the islands and tells stories on the customs, culture and history of the islands in the late 1880s and, of course, interjecting his sense of humor. Fun if you’ve been to Hawaii before. I found this NYT article that was written about Twain’s time in Hawaii, if you want a preview. There’s also an interesting slideshow.
