I noticed these signs went up sometime in November. I wonder what prompted it. Palmer Square, for the most part, is wide open space. People run around, picnic, play ball, all the time. People were playing ball the night I took this photo. What’s the problem!?

Really? I just noticed them in November. I wonder what prompted them originally to go up.
I think there’s different versions of the story, but one Palmer resident told me that it was because out-of-neighborhood folks used to use Palmer Square for organized ball games. The story is that they essentially took over the space to the exclusion of others who wanted to use it. This was all well before my time. I don’t think anyone will care now if you wanted to kick the ball around or play catch.
