I posted the photo above back in May and was sort of mocking Humboldt Park. No diving? No problem. There was no water!
Last night I biked by the same part of the park and this is what I saw.

I guess the joke is on me! There were a bunch of kids swimming and lifeguards and everything. The park was hoppin’. Baseball games, lots of people out for a stroll or walking their dogs, people bike riding, families picnicking, people just enjoying the weather in general.
Heh. Michelle made the same mistaken assumption when we walked by there lat spring and I was just like, “Oh, just wait a month or two!”
My dad runs in the park in the morning when he is visiting.. most recently, last weekend. He made some comment about the water and swimming and I was like “what the?” It really is much prettier (and more crowded) in the summer!
Yes, I was very confused. Now I know it is very shallow though, bc I couldnt figure out where the water would even go!
There were plenty of families swimming there.. have any of you guys gone in the water? Wondering how clean/deep it is. I heard one lady yelling at her older kid not to let the younger kid “go in the deep” but who knows. The kid was really small so who knows what she considers “deep.”
Now I am pondering…. is that area normally in a state of “lakeness” or “lawn?”
Well, don’t lose sight of that there’s a beach and a boat house!
