Like I’ve mentioned in the past, I love historical fiction. People poke holes in Philippa Gregory’s timelines and stories, but I still enjoy her books. The Queen’s Fool takes place during the reign of Queen Mary Tudor – also known as “Bloody Mary” for all of the people she ordered burned for not being Catholic. It’s told from the point of view of an Jewish adolescent girl named Hannah who had a vision and was ordered to serve the Queen as a royal fool. She became the lifelong companion of both Queen Mary and her rival sister, Princess Elizabeth, and had to hide the fact that she was Jewish and her own mother was burned at the stake for being Jewish.

This book is the sequel to The Other Boleyn Girl.
