The Best Valentines Day Gift Ever

February 10th, 2009 · 9 Comments

snuggieFor an early Valentines Day gift Dallas got me a Snuggie. It’s the best. As you can see, I can read a book (with the free book light that came with the Snuggie) and use the remote without my arms getting cold or being tucked under the blanket!

All joking aside, it really is very warm and cozy. Plus it’s fun to say Snuggie. I will ignore the blue fuzzies that are gathering on my clothes and furniture and how difficult it is to walk on the stairs and the fact that it smells slightly plastic-y. The Snuggie is awesome. It has occurred to me, though, that I’ve been wearing the Snuggie backwards a lot and then essentially I’m just wearing a robe. .. but where can you get a nice, oversized, fuzzy robe like this for only $14.99? And did I mention the free book light that was included?

This all came about from watching the “As Seen on TV commercials on the Sleuth Channel where we watch Magnum P.I. reruns all the time. And one night about a week ago I was downstairs in bed reading. It was freezing. I keep the heat down to save money. Instead of continuing to read I just bundled under the covers and rolled over to go to sleep, saying I was too cold. Dallas was all “You need the Snuggie to keep your arms warm.” Here I am now typing this while wearing the Snuggie.

Awesome….the color of you Snuggie should complement your Sham-wows.

ha. must admit that we were very intrigued by the sham wow for a while.

also, Bed Bath & Beyond only has blue snuggies and they’re only $14.99 (with a free book light!). If you buy them online you can pick from 3 colors. They’re $19.99 + $7.98 for shipping and that’s not all!. You get an extra snuggie for “free.” It’s just about double the price of the BBB snuggie when you add in the shipping.

i think it’s ironic that i happened to make this post on the warmest day of the year so far – low to mid 60s! still, i had the snuggie on this morning when I first got up!

awesome Rachelle – you and my 72 year old father will get along swimmingly!

I looked in to getting these around christmas and it turns out alot of people have issues with ordering Snuggie online, being double and tripple charged so going to BBB is probably everyones safest bet to avoid the possibility.

Also Snuggies seem to be a nock off of the Slanket – which is 2x the cost. But maybe it doesn’t smell like plastic?

    NO YOU DIDN’T!!!!

    That is too funny!!!

im glad you are not cold anymore

Piggybacking off of Neil’s comment above – I was given the Slanket for christmas, and it is FAR superior to the Snuggie my friend has. It’s far more substantial (weight-wise), doesn’t pill or shed, and is longer (like, longer than my 84″ couch). The Slanket is totally worth the 8 week backorder and the extra cost.

Snuggie People may be calling you for a spot in their commercial now Shell! You’re wa-a-y cuter than their current model!
