And what a squealer Dad was. "Sue tried 3 or 4 times” ... INDEED! It was only because that man was incorrigible and made me a nervous wreck. "Be careful here now... a girl sneezed here once... and killed three people." "Watch out for that telephone tree!" "Don't EVER make your car work up a hill... give it some more gas now." "Ya dasn't ride your break like that girl, my God, do you have enough money for new breaks??" "My God Girl, slow it down, slow it down, you're gonna get us both killed." I mean honestly, by the time I actually took the test I was a shivering, blithering, stuttering, paranoid and pitiful mess. No wonder I flunked. I was 23 when I finally had the nerve to try again and I did a right fine job of it. Oh... and now that I'm soaring through my fifties... let me tell you that one CAN SNEEZE while driving and almost NObody get's hurt... And he writes that in your BIRTHDAY CARD?? Man I miss him... what distinctive handwriting he had. If you ever watched him write, he put his pen down in all the wrong places to make each letter....often starting on the wrong side of the arch and circling exactly backward. Like "C" -- he actually began at the bottom of the letter... I'll shut up now... They may not have the internet in Heaven… but I love you Dad… Oh my gosh… that put a “lump” in my throat. Man I miss him… what distinctive handwriting he had. If you ever watched him write, he put his pen down in all the wrong places to make each letter….often starting on the wrong side of the arch and circling exactly backward. I'm surprised it's an actual birthday card and not a get well or sympathy card with all the words changed ! He used to do that too! He also used to get excessive on the address stickers!
