River North, Chicago
I’d been meaning to take a photo of the Wrigley Building with it’s green and red lights on, as seen looking down Kinzie from my office, so last night, even though I was carrying a heavy load, I stopped and did it. Sometimes lately I just keep telling myself that I’ll photograph something and then I never do… I just have to stop and do it. No excuses.
Here’s a photo I took of the Wrigley Building in red & green back in 2005. As you can see, my view of the building was quite different then!

I read 31 books this year, which is 10 more than I read last year. I guess that’s what happens when you have a whole summer with nothing to do but read!
In 2006 I finished 28 books, in 2005 I read 24 books and in 2004 I read 31.

Ice Late, Taqueria Moran, Logan Square, Chicago
When we first moved to Logan Square, this “Ice Late” sign irritated me.. but now? Not so much. For one, the food at Taqueria Moran, where the sign is posted, is fabulous. We eat there at least once per week. And for two, “whatever.” At least they spelled Pina Colada right! Still there are multiple “Ice Late” signs in the windows. I kind of want to just steal them and add a “d” and a “t” where needed.

Roscoe Village, Chicago
For my birthday (in September) Dallas told me to pick a day to get a massage and he’d treat me. I ended up not getting it until early November, the weekend after we moved, which was the perfect time.. new job, new house, new stress. I went to Luxe, which is where I got my first massage ever. The massage therapist wasn’t the same, but it was still a great experience. They were having a special where you got a free salt scrub and it made my skin so soft! Afterward I had to take a shower to get all the salt off. This photo was taken in the bathrooms. I like the colors and the natural wooden bowls they have around the salon. So soothing.
