GPS = Relationship Saver

Saville Dam, Barkhamsted, CT

You heard it here. When we travel Dallas drives and I try to navigate. But when you’re plopped down in the middle of somewhere you’ve never been with a map that you just printed out, it can be difficult. Dallas and I can be stubborn, short-tempered people in certain situations and in the past a missed turn could result in a great big argument. On our trip to Connecticut in June we opted to rent the GPS unit along with our rental car and I think it was just about the best thing ever. We flew into Hartford and had to drive to a town called Sharon about two hours away. The roads there were all very small and windy and I was getting nervous the night before. But with the GPS we were both able to just sit back and enjoy the ride and we didn’t fight once!

On our way back from Sharon to the airport in Hartford, we were in such good moods (thanks GPS!). We stopped off in Barkhamsted by the Saville Dam to stretch our legs and take a few photos.

  1. ha! it’s funny how things like that create some much-needed peace.

    it sounds ridiculous, but a former coworker said that her cleaning lady saved her marriage. and it’s definitely helped yvan and me keep the peace! we still fight sometimes about cleaning, but MUCH less now that we’ve got a cleaning lady. worth every penny 🙂
