Brainard’s Bridge Park, Waupaca, WI

My parents live in Waupaca, WI and there are many many linked up hiking, biking and walking trails so I made sure to bring my bike with me on my visit. The River Ridge Trail goes all around the city and will eventually encircle it. All around town there are signs for the trail and you can pretty much just follow them, although I did find this trail map (pdf) helpful. When my parents were at work I biked around on the trail. Waupaca is a lot more hilly than Chicago so it was more of a workout than I was used to. I had fun exploring around, getting exercise and seeing more of the city.

These photos are of Brainard’s Bridge Park, which I’m told I’d been to before when I was a kid for a cousin’s high school graduation party, but I don’t remember really. The park seemed familiar, but I’d never have been able to describe it before seeing it again recently. I also found out that nature is pretty, but it makes me really sick. At least at the time of the year that I was visiting. Or it could have been from my parent’s cat, but he’s not really in the house that much, so I’m not sure.

I think Marla had her college graduation party there, I remember playing in the water.

I wrecked a cell phone at that park last summer, Milo pulled me into the water when it was in my pocket.
