Baseball & Batman

Hamlin Park, Lakeview, Chicago

Yesterday I spent a lot of time reading outside. Some of that time was at Hamlin Park where there were 3 baseball games going on. I watched the games, read a little, walked around. I think it’s nice that Hamlin Park has so many activities throughout the summer to keep kids occupied and healthy.

Last night Kristin, Dallas and I went to see The Dark Knight. We wanted to see it on the IMAX, but tickets are sold out for weeks so we just saw it at the Kerasotes on Western. The Dark Knight is just as good as everyone has been raving. So intense. At the end of the movie I was like “Whew!” I felt like I wasn’t breathing and my muscles were all tensed up for 2 hours straight. Heath Ledger’s Joker was so twisted and maniacal and fabulous. It made me uncomfortable to watch some of the scenes. I was feeling a bit sick about the fact that he’s now dead and we’ll never get to see him do another film ever. I think Ledger will get the Oscar for sure.
